roject “Hustisya Natin” held an Area Coordinator’s Assembly on February 22-23, 2017 at St. Mark’s Hotel in Cebu.
Day 1 (Feb. 22) focused on a review of project implementation for 2016 (Year 1), including a discussion on the findings and recommendations for financial and administrative matters (facilitated by Lito Barrientos, Jr of ALG). The rest of Day 1 was used for a training on live web streaming (facilitated by Ren Alcantara of LIBERTAS), including the use of the equipments for live streaming (laptops, cameras, microphones, tablets).
On Day 2 (Feb. 23), there was a presentation and discussion on the other Hustisya Natin project components: court monitoring toolkit (by Atty. Anmau Manigbas of AHRC), training of journalists (by Marites Vitug of JNBF), judicial appointments watch and judicial budget advocacy (by Vince Lazatin of TAN), judicial philosophy and the web channel (by Jonas Turingan of LIBERTAS). The last session was replanning/refinement of Year 2 plans.
"Hustisya Natin" is an EU-funded consortium project implemented by ALG, the Ateneo Human Rights Center (AHRC), the Philippine Alliance of Human Rights Advocates (PAHRA), Journalism for Nation-Building Foundation (JNBF), the Transparency and Accountability Network (TAN), and LIBERTAS.
