The “Trainers’ Skills Upgrading and Sharing Session” was conducted on November 8-10, 2016 at Microtel Technohub, Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City.
The activity gathered selected representatives from four previous TOT (Training of Trainers) and Institutionalization Workshop activities:
1. Northern Luzon (Regions 1, 2 and Cordillera Administrative Region), conducted on October 17-21, 2016 at the Paragon Hotel in Baguio City
2. NCR and Regions 3 & 4-A, conducted on October 3-7, 2016 at the La Breza Hotel in Quezon City
3. Region 10 & 13, conducted on August 15-19, 2016 at the VIP Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City
4. Visayas (Regions 6, 7 and 8), conducted on July 11-15, 2016 at the Days Hotel in Iloilo City
The activity aimed for participants to share their experiences on the TOT and follow-up activities, as well as to learn about selected SLEs (Structured Learning Exercises) and advanced skills which can be useful for human rights education and training.
The “Trainers Skills Upgrading and Sharing Session” is an activity under the “Community-based Dialogue Sessions on Human Rights Promotion and Protection between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police, and Civil Society Organizations and Local Communities” Project. It is a collaboration among the Commission on Human Rights (CHR), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (through the AFP Human Rights Office and the J7), the Philippine National Police (through the PNP Human Rights Affairs Office), the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation (NCAF), the Philippine Alliance of Human Rights Advocates (PAHRA), and the Alternative Law Groups (ALG), with support from the Hanns Seidel Foundation of Germany.
