The EnDefense (Environmental Defense) Policy Forum was held on July 28, 2017 at the Microtel Technohub in Quezon City. The forum was launched to look back on the first year of the Duterte administration and to become more aware of the prospects of our environmental policy agenda for the coming years.
The first session was on “Context of the State of the Environment,” presented by Mr. Jaybee Garganera (National Coordinator of the Alyansa Tigil Mina or ATM). This was followed by a presentation of the “Philippine Development Plan: Chapters on Environment” by Atty. Marlon Manuel (ALG National Coordinator). The third presentation was on “Assessment of the Green Bills for the 17th Congress and Prospects for the Duterte Administration” by Atty. Tonet Ramos (ALG Deputy Coordinator). An Open Forum followed the three presentations.
In the afternoon, Atty. Tonet Ramos shared the “EnDefense Monitoring Research Findings,” which was followed by reactions from Atty. Jose “Onggie” Canivel (PTFCF), Ms. Chinkee Gole-Pelino (IDIS), Mr. Carl Cesar Rebuta (LRC), Atty. Jan Perry Eugenio (BALAOD Mindanaw), and was followed by an Open Forum.
The Closing Remarks were given by Atty. Onggie Canivel (PTFCF).
