The ALG, in collaboration with the Commission on Human Rights (CHR), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (through the AFP Human Rights Office/AFP HRO), the Philippine National Police (through the PNP Human Rights Affairs Office/PNP HRAO), the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation (NCAF), the Philippine Alliance of Human Rights Advocates (PAHRA), with support from the Hanns Seidel Foundation of Germany, has been jointly implementing the “Community-Based Dialogue Sessions on Human Rights Promotion and Protection” Project since 2008.
In the second year of the third phase of the project (2015), we conducted island-wide Human Rights Training of Trainers (TOT). The Visayas TOT was conducted last March 9-13, 2015 at the Cityscape Hotel in Cebu City, while the Luzon TOT was conducted last May 11-15, 2015 at the Cloud 9 Hotel in Antipolo City. The Mindanao TOT was held on July 6-10, 2015 at the Royal Mandaya Hotel in Davao City.
The TOTs aim to develop pools of local Human Rights trainers from the different project partners (AFP, PNP, CHR, and CSOs) utilizing the Multi-Sectoral Human Rights Training Handbook which was also developed under the same program.
